100 Meter Dash
Martinsburg's Jasmyn Hosby sped away from a strong field in the 2nd half of the race. Her 12.15 is the 2nd Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 2nd Best All-Time Class AAA State Meet Performance. Morgantown's Natasha Trott easily claimed 2nd place, and her 12.19 trials time is the 5th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 5th Best All-Time Class AAA State Meet Performance. Martinsburg's Mykera Days easily took the 3rd spot, and her 12.26 trials time is Tied for the 10th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and is Tied for the 9th Best All-Time Class AAA State Meet Performance. 4th through 6th was decided by just 0.02 seconds as the front six all ran under 12.70 seconds. One of my predicted placers qualified 4th but got hit with the dreaded False Start in the finals.
RunWV's Current Score: 5 of 6.

200 Meter Dash
Martinsburg's Jasmyn Hosby came through for me with the win. Her 24.94 was a rare sub-25 clocking, but her 24.76 trials time was good enough for the 2nd Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 2nd Best All-Time Class AAA State Meet Performance. Morgantown's Natasha Trott again took 2nd with a very strong 25.17 showing, which is good enough for the 10th Best All-Time Class AAA State Meet Performance. In a very good year for sprinting, the top 7 all came in under 26 seconds.
RunWV's Current Score 9 of 12.

400 Meter Dash
Martinsburg's Jasmyn Hosby again used a strong final 100 to win the event. Coming out of the turn in 3rd, she was able to make the pass and take the lead with about 40 meters to go. Her 56.85 is Tied for the 5th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and Tied for the 4th Best All-Time Class AAA State Meet Performance. Fairmont Senior's Alyssa Scherich pulled away for 2nd down the stretch, and her 57.29 is the 9th Best All-Time Class AAA State Meet Performance. 3rd through 5th were under 59 seconds, and all six placers came in under 60. 4x800 Meter Relay
As with Class AA Girls, I messed this up royally. I have no notes because I was filming, but I screwed up the filming, so I have no video. University's group of Alex Phares, Abbey Harrison, Emily Lynch, and Amelia Paladino clocked a 9:34.28, which is the 2nd Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 2nd Best All-Time Class AAA State Meet Performance. I heard someone say that Paladino split a 2:14, but I don't know if that's true or not. Morgantown was just 7 seconds back in 2nd, and Preston edged Hurricane for 3rd with both hitting 9:45. The top 8 were under 10:00.
